The casket of the former President Gerald R. Ford is carried between the ranks of honorary pallbearers and honor cordon into St. Margaret's Episcopal Church in Palm Springs, California, Dec. 29 for a private family prayer service. More than 500 military members are in Palm Desert supporting the California portion of the State Funeral for the former president. The military is providing ceremonial, logistics, and security support to honor and pay tribute to the former Commander-in-Chief and the Ford family.
