Master Sergeant Dewane Brown, Afghan National Army Medical Embedded Training Team member and combat advisor, visits with a child in an Afghani hospital. Part of Sergeant Brown’s daily duties includes daily interaction with the local populace as he operates outside the wire from a forward operating base. He readily acknowledges his job takes place in a dangerous environment, but he also calls it “one of the most rewarding experiences” of his career.
