BALAD AIR BASE, Iraq -- Army Chaplain (Maj.) Carlos Carrea, 55th Sustainment Brigade chaplain, prays for the safety of a group of Soldiers from the 16th of the 38th Truck Company about to leave on a convoy from here, May 12. Chaplain Carrea and Air Force Chaplain (Capt.) Jeffrey Granger, 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing chaplain, visited with the group and gave them boxes of Girl Scout cookies to take with them on their journey; the cookies were donated from Girl Scouts in Eastern Massachusetts. Chaplains provide various religious services and materials to deployed personnel to fulfill their spiritual needs; chaplains can also help bolster morale among servicemembers.
