A C-5 Galaxy assigned to Dover Air Force Base (AFB), Del., arrives at Ellsworth AFB, S.D., Aug. 2, 2016. The C-5 has 12 internal wing tanks with a total fuel capacity of 51,150 gallons, has a cargo load of 270,000 pounds and can fly 2,150 nautical miles, offload, and fly to a second base 500 nautical miles away from the original destination.
