Hispanic Heritage Month: a difference through diversity
An Airman receives a variety of food during Hispanic Heritage Month food tasting event at Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D., Sept. 14, 2017. Hispanic Heritage Month is recognized from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, and is significant to Hispanic Heritage Month because it is the anniversary of independence for Latin American countries like Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on Sept. 16 and Sept. 18, respectively. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Donald C. Knechtel)
