A Douglas Dauntless model airplane sits on display at the Joe D. Brown IV Mission Training Center on Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota, Aug. 17, 2023. These models are organized and spread throughout the facility for visiting trainees to view as they conduct their training. Most of the model planes are hung from the ceiling as if in flight, however if they were modeled with landing gear deployed, they were most likely placed on a shelf or table as if parked.
