  • Supervisor 101: bridging the gap

    The 28th Maintenance Squadron has created an advanced approach to develop the leadership skills of recent Airmen Leadership School (ALS) graduates and first-time supervisors. Supervisor 101 is a four-day course designed to bridge the gap between the broad scope of leadership taught in ALS and the narrow scope of supervisory skills necessary to guide maintenance Airmen.

  • Ellsworth stays cool with summer reading

    The Holbrook Library is keeping cool with a free Summer Reading Program, set to run from June 20 through July 25. The Summer Reading Program is run in partnership with the Department of Defense Morale, Welfare and Recreation’s Summer Reading Program. The program is designed to encourage reading over the summer to encourage children to retain literacy skills and material learned throughout the school year.
  • Sesame Street Live visits Ellsworth

    Characters from Sesame Street Live performed at the base theater on Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D. Families were able to get up close and personal with their favorite characters – while singing, dancing and learning about the importance of community.
  • Ellsworth’s new command chief: #SLAY

    The 28th Bomb Wing recently welcomed the second woman to ever assume the role of command chief at Ellsworth Air Force Base. Chief Master Sgt. Rochelle Hemingway, originally from Kokomo, Indiana, was previously stationed at Luke AFB, Arizona, where she served as the 56th Medical Operations Squadron’s superintendent. As command chief, Hemingway will advise Col. John Edwards, the 28th Bomb Wing commander, on the topics of health, morale, welfare, training and development for the Airmen stationed at Ellsworth AFB.
