Brass in Blue, a component of the U.S. Air Force Heartland of America Band based at Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., will perform two free concerts tonight and July 4.

The ensemble will take the stage at the Mount Rushmore National Memorial at 7:50 p.m. today, and at 7 p.m., July 4 at Main Street Square in downtown Rapid City, S.D.

Comprised of 10 brass players, a percussionist and a vocalist, the group maintains a rigorous performance schedule presenting a diverse repertoire featuring orchestral transcriptions, patriotic favorites, jazz standards, new compositions and distinctive arrangements.

Each of the musicians is a full-time, active-duty member of the Air Force. Their mission is to cultivate positive relationships between the U.S. Air Force and communities across the Midwest through music.
