  • Raider Airmen earn German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge

    Eleven Raider Airmen were awarded the coveted German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge at Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D. on Sept. 20-21, 2019. Airmen participated alongside Army ROTC cadets and South Dakota Army National Guardsmen. Participants were required to complete six events in order to qualify for the badge.

    The 28th Maintenance Squadron Additive Manufacturing Rapid Repair Facility conducted its first-ever Cold Spray repair on an aircraft Sept. 18.
  • 28th Medical Group hosts DECON exercise

    The 28th Medical Group hosted a decontamination exercise to demonstrate and test their readiness and capabilities to handle a simulated Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear threat in a real-world situation. They were timed and tested on their ability to don their gear, set up a DECON station, set up a water heater to provide warm water to the station and clean all harmful chemicals and materials from a training dummy. They were able to complete their task well under the allotted completion time and earn required certifications pertaining to their career field.
  • Ellsworth gets a taste of Latin America

    The Ellsworth Latin American Community (ELAC) hosted a ‘Taste of Latin America’ food tasting event at the Base Exchange food court on Sept. 16. The event was held in observance of National Hispanic Heritage Month, which is observed from Sept. 15 through Oct. 15, in recognition of the many cultures, contributions and accomplishments of Latin and Hispanic American people.
