Ellsworth's spouse appreciation day

ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. -- Ellsworth's Spouse Appreciation Day is scheduled for May 7 and consists of a series of events listed below, beginning with the 9 a.m. event kick-off and welcome at the base theater with Col. Jeffrey Taliaferro, 28th Bomb Wing commander, and Mrs. Ellie Taliaferro.

All spouses are invited, regardless of whether the military member of their family is at home station or deployed.

"I'm looking forward to a fun and informative day," Colonel Taliaferro said. "This is where we give spouses an opportunity to see what the wing does, what their spouses do and what their units do."

A synopsis of the day's events are:

9 a.m. - Kickoff and welcome at the base theater with Colonel & Mrs. Taliaferro
There will be information tables from various agencies as time permits, the commissary and base exchange are also hosting events including a case lot sale and Asian-Pacific American Heritage food sampling.

10 a.m. - Individual squadron functions begin. Most consist of mission brief, a meet and greet with unit leadership, refreshments, demonstrations and tours. This is a mutually beneficial opportunity to gain a more thorough understanding of Air Force operations while having some free fun.

10:10 a.m. : Freedom Chapel- Breakfast followed by BW Staff Brief /28 BW Director of Staff

12:00 p.m. : Division Work Centers, briefings and tours, (as available). POC MAJ Crawford at (605) 385-5640

28th Security Forces Spouse Appreciation day Itinerary

10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at building 4400. Events that will take place include: lunch, weapons display, K-9 Demo, high risk traffic stop, red-man suit and tours.

28th Munitions Squadron Spouse Appreciation Day Itinerary

10:00 a.m. - 10:10 : Spouses Brief in 28 MUNS Conference Room
10:15 a.m. - 11:00 : Tour of Munitions Storage Area

11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. : Lunch in 28 MUNS Conference Room
