  • CATM inspects Ellsworth’s weapons

    The 28th Security Forces Squadron combat arms training and maintenance flight, conducted their biannual inspection of firearms on Ellsworth Air Force Base. They checked weapons for any defects and conducted routine weapon maintenance. CATM Airmen conducted the inspection of all base weapons to ensure they are ready for use in a deployed environment and for training purposes.
  • 28th Munitions Squadron builds bombs

    Airmen from the 28th Munitions Squadron conducted a bomb build Aug. 28. Over the course of two days, weapons crew members assembled, inspected and stored 15 joint direct attack munitions, including 12 live munitions and three training bombs. These weapons will be used in training and combat operations overseas.
  • Auto Hobby Shop: Mechanics, counselors

    The auto hobby shop at Ellsworth Air Force Base is a place where Airmen and their families can repair and maintain their vehicles. From oil changes to engine swaps, the shop has the tools, facilities and mechanics to help with most automotive needs.
  • Vehicle maintenance: The summer rebuild

    The 28th Logistics Readiness Squadron’s vehicle maintenance shop is conducting their yearly summer rebuild. The rebuild is put in place to ensure that all snow fleet vehicles are ready to keep the flight line and roads clear of snow during the winter months. This prior maintenance helps to ensure the Ellsworth Air Force Base mission can continue without delays when the weather turns.
  • Dakota Thunder Run cruises to Sturgis rally

    Members from the Green Knights Military Motorcycle Club and 28th Bomb Wing leadership hosted the 18th annual Dakota Thunder Run at Ellsworth Air Force Base on Aug. 7, where over 150 participants rode their motorcycles to Sturgis.
