  • Ellsworth EOD responds to accident with truck carrying Navy projectiles

    A six-man team from the 28th Civil Engineer Squadron explosive ordnance disposal flight responded to a vehicle collision on Highway 212 in Montana the night of Feb. 10. The crash involved two tractor trailers – one carrying fertilizer and the other U.S. Navy high-explosive projectiles.

    Ellsworth celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

    In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, which is officially celebrated Sept. 15-Oct. 15, the base Diversity Council hosted two cultural events on Ellsworth Air Force Base.

    Fire prevention week warms up at Ellsworth

    National Fire Prevention and Safety Week was started in 1925 by President Calvin Coolidge to help educate the populous about proper techniques when dealing with fires. During this week, fire departments across the country get out into their local communities to teach fire hazard awareness and the importance having fire escape plans at work and at home. Each year, the event’s theme changes, and this year it’s: “Look. Listen. Learn.”

    First responders help make “Freshmen Impact” a success

    Last shift: snow teams alleviate road conditions

    The 28th Civil Engineer Squadron’s heavy equipment shop conducted 24-hour operations to remove snow from priority areas, April 13. The 28th CES Airmen ensured mission essential personnel were capable of driving safely on base.

    Whether it is from the off and on deployments taking away precious time between a parent and child or the short-lived homes a family may stay at, being a part of a military family can be difficult.
