  • Childcare survey results received

    The 28th Force Support Squadron recently received the results from the November 2018 childcare survey. The results gathered indicate a need for improvements in childcare options offered to service members at Ellsworth Air Force Base.
  • 28th LRS makes great strides in vehicle upgrade project

    Airmen from the 28th Logistics Readiness Squadron are undergoing a massive transit modification project at Ellsworth Air Force Base. They will replace the out-of-date multi-purpose vehicles - nicknamed bread trucks - with five new transit vans which are being modified to better fit the mission.

    Airmen from the 89th Attack Squadron at Ellsworth Air Force Base gathered at Mount Rushmore for the General Atomics’ MQ-1B/9 Squadron of the Year awards presentation on Dec. 7.
  • Security forces superintendent selected for chief master sergeant

    Senior Master Sgt. Jesse Frank, the 28th Security Forces Squadron operations superintendent, was informed by Ellsworth Air Force Base leadership that he will be soon be putting on the highest enlisted rank in the Air Force. Only 1 percent of Airmen earn the prestigious title of chief master sergeant.
  • Ellsworth tree lighting glows with holiday spirit

    The Ellsworth Air Force Base Chapel hosted their annual tree lighting ceremony on Nov. 30 to start the holiday season. Airmen and their families came out to enjoy the festivities. Multiple faiths were represented by base members who spoke about their holiday traditions.
  • AFRC receives grant from the AFAS

    The 28th Force Support Squadron Airman & Family Readiness Center received a grant from the Air Force Aid Society to help military spouses receive education in the nursing career field. Fifteen spouses from Ellsworth Air Force Base were awarded the grant.
  • Ellsworth Airmen send relief to wingmen at Tyndall

    Airmen from Ellsworth Air Force Base sent care packages with much needed supplies to Tyndall AFB, Florida, in an effort to assist in the hurricane recovery and reconstruction efforts.
  • Ellsworth continues to donate to CFC

    Ellsworth Air Force Base’s annual Combined Federal Campaign, along with the Air Force Sergeants Association Chapter 951, has collected more than $12,000 for various charities and base organizations this year. Personnel are able to donate online until Jan. 11, 2019. Ellsworth AFB’s campaign is set to run until Nov. 30.
  • Raider Airmen fly in Green Flag 18-10

    More than 100 Airmen from the 37th Bomb Squadron and 28th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at Ellsworth Air Force Base departed Oct. 25 to participate in exercise Green Flag 18-10, which runs from Oct. 25 to Nov. 9.
  • Combat Raider 19-1 keeps forces ready, lethal

    Aircrew from all 8th Air Force bases flew over the Powder River Training Complex together for the first time during Combat Raider 19-1 on Oct. 16-18. They coordinated with joint tactical air controllers from the Royal Canadian Armed Forces and Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, who helped coordinate simulated air strikes from the ground.
